Fall weddings are magical for a lot of reasons. 1) The weather in the Great Northwest is stellar, 2) the seasonal colors, changing leaves, etc. make for an amazing backdrop, and 3) the flowers that are still available in this "off season" are simply stunning. Deep reds, golden yellows, burnt orange, chocolate brown... we swoon... Check out this darling Fall wedding of ours that ended up being featured on Style Me Pretty! When you're in the wedding industry, there are some things that are obligatory in order to sharpen your trend spotting abilities. Some are more fun than others... and it turns out that The Bachelor's wedding last night was so amazingly full of flowers that it was a must watch. It also turns out that ABC must have the lock-down images of that fabulous ceremony because we can't find any online! So today we're sharing the few glimpses we could find of our favorite floral highlights from Catherine and Sean's wedding last night (you watched, right?) mixed with some of our very own creations that are already very similar! Looks like we're already on trend for 2014. Don't forget to call us to schedule a complimentary consultation to start planning your "grown sexy" wedding! 503.228.1920 We mentioned a few weeks ago (here) that we are thrilled to be included in many diverse cultural traditions when it comes to weddings in Portland. Today's wedding was one such event that was truly stunning. The vibe was modern, very artistic, and full of striking shapes and movement. This bride's couture taste created a sophisticated look and feel that rivals any celebrity wedding. Photography by: Evrim Icoz Coordination: Bridal Bliss Venue: Portland Art Museum Happy Friday! Yesterday we ventured back into the Glake archives {remember this Timberline Wedding?} and were delighted to find this little nugget of summer. It saddens us to tell you that this AH.MAZE.ING venue is no longer open to the public but, trust us, it was out of a dream, over the top fabulous, while it lasted. Not only was this beautiful bride lucky enough to snag one of the last wedding dates available at DeArmond, but her mom is also a curator of vintage, couture clothing and the most marvelous antiques. You'll find her silver trophies, milk glass, and more interspersed into the decor. The thoughtful bride and groom even arranged for guests spend downtime playing horseshoes and badminton on the lawn. Talk about classic and timeless. We hope you enjoy! And if you do... would you take a moment and cast your vote for "Best Florist" 2014? It only takes a second and there is no registration necessary. You do, however, need to vote for at least 6 vendors {see here for a list of the ones we love!}. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Venue: DeArmond Estate Photography by: Erica Ann Photography Whoa! Our way back machine reminded us of another Timberline wedding that we love and we were dying to share it today. This bride chose vivid fuchsia tones with accents of apple green for her rustic wedding. We love the way her bouquet lights up the room. And talk about cute accessories... scroll through to see the adorable place settings. Venue: Timberline Lodge - Silcox Hut Photography by: FS Photography Did you know that Timberline Lodge happens to be one of our favorite locations for winter weddings? Of course, it helps that the remote location has an element of romance and adventure, but we especially love how our flowers really impact such a rugged (and historical!) site. This wedding really upped the ante by requesting a wedding full of white anemones, soft and creamy garden roses, texture like rosemary and seeded eucalyptus, and touches of lambs ear. The Silcox Hut is also AMAZING in the winter and provides a perfectly cozy, "snowed in" atmosphere. We love how the snow drifts pile up against the windows and - hey - everyone rides snowcats to and from the wedding. Awesome. Venue: Timberline Lodge One of the things we love most about being Portland's most trusted wedding florist is that we are asked to create amazing floral for a wide range of ceremonies. In the last few years we have had the pleasure of being the go-to place for Indian, Pakistani and other SE Asian weddings and the chance to learn more about these beautiful cultural traditions. These affairs have been as elaborate as three day affairs and as complex as this dual Indian/ Christian ceremony which took place at the Hilton and St George Orthodox church, a few days later. We have acquired many mandap options, linens, fabrics, furniture, pillows and have even helped with shopping in the bustling Indian markets. Meeting these families and seeing first hand their devotion to family, education and weddings (of course) has inspired us to become "experts" and adore everything about these cultures. Photography by: Powers Photography Studio Coordination: Bridal Bliss Venue: Hilton and St George Orthodox Our couture weddings never go out of style. Here our groom's requested an over the top mix of casual elegance and their private residence along the Columbia River was the perfect backdrop. From the hanging birch screens over each table to the luscious chuppah and the perfectly mismatched chairs and french bistro seating, this outdoor summer celebration was simply stunning and showcases the fun we have designing weddings. Couture weddings are about so much more than the flowers. At the helm of event creation we have the ability to produce impeccable events. This couple has flawless taste and we pulled together the dream team to bring their vision to life. A huge thanks to Art of Catering and Dragonfly Events for helping us!
