A word that is frequently used to describe our bride's wedding style is "classic" and there are few weddings that fit that bill as much as this lovely navy and blush wedding at Waverley Country Club. Photography by: Altura Studios Coordination: Bridal Bliss Venue: Waverley Country Club

We were reminded this morning as we checked our Facebook that "engagement season" has begun! Hooray for all of the amazing 2014 weddings coming up - we are soooooo ready to WOW you. If you're newly engaged {or know someone who is} the new year is a great time to start planning. Our summer weekends start filling up in January - and especially after the Portland Bridal Show {January 18-19}. Check out this weddings video by Shields Films! Ever since the 2014 Pantone color of the year was announced, we can't get purple {and all tones/variations} out of our heads. Purple is not necessarily a color we have seen a ton of in the past - but don't ask us why! There are so many amazing flowers that come in purple. A few of our favorites are hydrangea, calla lilies, lisianthus, roses, lavender {the herb}, orchids, and dahlias. Pantone describes their "Radiant Orchid" as... "blooming with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health." With an imagery like that, we know we are bound to see more of this royal hue in 2014! Here are a few purple highlights from our past... Did you know that the holidays are one of the most popular times of year to get engaged? So although we're counting down the days until our red suited friend slips down the chimney, we're also getting so excited about the upcoming wedding season. Starting in January, thousands of brides will start planning their big day and we'll be ready! Until then, here's a wedding palette from 2013 that we think will still be in demand in 2014. We can't get enough of these delicate, ruffly garden roses and dinnerplate dahlias. And the rosemary sprigs at each place setting? Yes, please. Check out one of our glamorous weddings at The Nines inspired by this amazing Pantone color. Photography by: Powers Studio Flowers by: Geranium Lake Flowers Coordination: Kim Foren, Geranium Lake Flowers Venue: The Nines Hotel This adorable green and purple themed wedding is fun for 2 reasons: a) it was party a DIY created by the bride in our studio and b) well, just look at it! It was also featured in the Winter/Spring 2014 Portland Bride & Groom so it seems there are others who agree with us. Be sure to peek at some of the delightful details and desert table! This 2013 couture wedding has become one of our all time favorites because we just fell in love with Anna and her mom - and HELLO! - just look at their amazing sense of style. Romantic, super lush, dripping with orchids and willow... The details in this wedding solidify it's place in Geranium Lake history. From the stunning head table centerpiece {which we suspended from the ceiling of the tent} to the cobalt blue camp mugs with custom tags denoting a special "Uncle Larry" drink and the individual champagne bottles serving as place cards. Yes. This wedding was perfection. Photography by: Jessica Hill Venue: Oswego Lake Country Club Coordination & Styling: Geranium Lake Flowers This wedding, of course! Simple, classic, crisp... and we love the pops of vibrant green. We used a lot of fluffy, white and green hydrangea, creamy white peonies, delicate ranunculus, and a few spider mums to create a super textured, lush vibe that is a fun twist on the traditional.
